Cucumber is a well-known skin and body cooler and hence is great for detox waters and homemade skin cooling masks. Summers are here and with beachy days comes sun burning and skin inflammations. Here is a recipe for cucumber gel that can be used throughout the year for a number of skin issues especially to calm your skin down after sun exposure-CUCUMBER SKIN GEL

Aloe- Has anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial properties. also keeps skin cool and calm.
RECIPE FOR CUCUMBER SKIN GEL-
Things you need-
- 1/3 cup organic commercial aloe vera gel
- 1/4 cup fresh cucumber juice (store bought can increase shelf life of product)
Directions-
In a bowl, add aloe vera gel. Commercial gel will only work well for this recipe as it contains emulsifying agent that helps combining gel with other liquid ingredients.
Add in cucumber juice and stir until it is well combined and homogeneous.
Store the cucumber gel in an air tight jar and keep it refrigerated for a week.
WAYS TO USE CUCUMBER SKIN GEL:
- After sun exposure, apply the gel liberally on your skin.
- Use it as a facial and body moisturizer.
- Mix it with your homemade facial masks.
- Apply on your skin after facial steaming.
- Dilute it with water and use as a facial mist.
- Can be used on scalp to ease sun burn and itching.
